The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLB boasts a distinctive front grille, featuring 95 three-pointed star emblems, leaving no doubt about its heritage. This newest version of the popular GLB isn’t subtle about reminding you it’s a Mercedes.
Design and Features
The GLB’s front grille, once home to slats, is now a panel lit from within, dotted with the aforementioned star emblems. Two GLB models are available, both pure electric, rear-motor, and rear-wheel drive, with hybrids to follow.
The GLB 200 electric Progressive uses a 58.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, producing 150 horsepower and offering a range of 453 km. It falls under the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) system’s Category A, priced at S$290,888.
In contrast, the GLB 250+ electric AMG Line Sport costs S$35,000 more, featuring an 85.5 kWh nickel manganese cobalt pack, with a range of up to 674 km.
Performance and Comfort
Despite its 272 hp, the Mercedes accelerates gently, taking 7.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The car’s suspension is well-balanced, neither too soft nor too firm, making it comfortable to drive on patchwork tarmac.

The GLB is also surprisingly agile, with its sticky Michelins providing good grip when cornering. However, the third row seating, while improved, still lacks air-con vents and USB ports, making it more suitable for children under 1.7 m tall.
The boot space is limited with all seven seats up but expands to a generous 1,605 litres when the seats are folded. The 127-litre frunk is also useful, providing ample space for groceries or other items.
Charging and Versatility
One of the car’s standout features is MB.Charge Public, a function within the companion smartphone app, providing access to over 7,000 charging points across Singapore.
With its versatility, the Mercedes can accommodate seven passengers one day and take you on a solo trip the next, all while maintaining its new car smell.
