RBC appoints Daniel Soo as Singapore banking head

RBC Wealth Management Asia has named Daniel Soo as its new Managing Director and Head of Private Banking for Singapore. The appointment marks the latest move in the firm’s expansion of its private banking operations in Asia, with Soo taking charge of strategy implementation, client growth, and relationship development across key markets.

Soo brings over 30 years of experience in wealth management, having held senior roles at UBS, Credit Suisse, and Standard Chartered Private Bank. He joined RBC in 2024 as market head for Singapore, where he has since led team recruitment and regional strategy execution. His appointment reflects RBC’s push to strengthen its presence in Singapore’s competitive private banking sector.

In addition to Soo, RBC has hired five other executives in Singapore to support its private banking operations.

Patrick Foo, a 25-year banking veteran, joins as executive director and team lead, bringing experience from Citibank, UBS, and Standard Chartered Bank, with a focus on clients in Greater China.

Jason Yuan, another executive director, has 20 years in wealth advisory, most recently at CTBC Bank Singapore and Bank Julius Baer, covering markets across Southeast Asia and Greater China.

Sam Polson, who specializes in serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals and global family offices in Asia Pacific, arrives from Barclays Private Bank.

Audrey Neo, a director with 15 years in wealth management, comes from CTBC Bank Singapore and previously worked at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, UBS, and Citi Private Bank.

Louisa Wen, an associate director, transitions from Citibank IPB Singapore, where she managed finance, real estate, and luxury client portfolios.

RBC’s Hong Kong office has also seen key additions.

Jackson Huang, a director with 25 years in private wealth, joins from Bank J. Safra Sarasin, after roles at DBS Private Bank, Julius Baer, and Goldman Sachs. His expertise focuses on Greater China ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices.

Malcolm Chai, an associate director, brings 10 years in wealth management from UBS Hong Kong, Julius Baer, and OCBC Bank.
